Improve your Training
ELCA' s Training Program is based on three pillars: personal development, corporate skills and culture and technical know-how.
Our Training Committee is responsible for identifying new areas of interest, selecting the best teachers, and organizing formal training sessions. In addition, regular in-house seminars are held on specific experience gained during projects: this allows everybody at ELCA to benefit from the latest technological developments. (In IT, systems go out of date and architectures change very rapidly.) We also encourage changes of direction during an employee's career, when such changes seem beneficial to the person's professional evolution.
Coaching
One of the ways in which ELCA's engineers improve their technical and corporate skills is through coaching. At ELCA, you can learn through coaching by more experienced colleagues. Our corporate culture as well as our project organization favour learning from each other. This way, we can all benefit from the collective skills of our colleagues, and we are much stronger as a team than as individuals.
Responsibilities and Support
Responsibility for project management is given very early to those who wish to take on such responsibilities. ELCA's structure provides the backing to be able to do this, and our project leaders will always feel the support of the company behind them. Our management also has an open-door policy, so you can have access to their advice at any time.
Job Rotation
Another factor that helps us keep our skills up to date is job rotation. In assigning engineers to projects, we ensure that people work on different types of projects, thus providing opportunities to learn new skills every time.
Reviews
Regular reviews with a department head provide our engineers with feedback about their progress within the company. Such reviews are held formally once a year, but are also often held between project assignments in a more informal way.
Flexible Working Time and Holidays
Our working hours are flexible, and ELCA's engineers can adjust their daily working time according to the work-load. The annual vacation is 20 working days.

Headquartered in Lausanne, ELCA is just a few minutes from the lake, the town center and the main station. ELCA's employees enjoy Switzerland's high standard of living. Whether we work at the Lausanne headquarters or in one of our branches in Zurich, Bern or Geneva, we can combine the quiet life of small cities with an impressively wide choice in sports, culture and entertainment, usually available only in major cities. We are located near some of the best ski resorts in the Alps, there is plenty of water sport available on the lakes, and most European capitals are only a couple of hours away by train or plane.
Saving for your Retirement
The Swiss retirement policy is based on a limited state pension complemented by a retirement program financed by both employer and employee. ELCA offers a highly competitive retirement program: both the employer' s contributions and the fund yield are far above the Swiss average. ELCA's employees can therefore feel confident about maintaining their standard of living and are ensured that the amounts saved will be transferred in case of change of employment.
Work Permit
Obtaining work permits for European Union (EU) citizens is now easier due to the Labour Mobility Act that the EU and Switzerland have signed.
