The costs of a manual document search are enormous: if 20 employees spend an average of 15 minutes per day on it, the costs already amount to CHF 110,000 per year (personnel costs per hour: CHF 100; 220 working days/year). Similar conclusions are reached by the IDC study, “The High Cost of Not Finding Information”: a company with 250 knowledge workers squanders almost CHF 30,000 every week – or around 1.5 million Swiss francs a year – because the location and retrieval of information does not work.
