ELCA Informatique SA takes the top spot among the 100 largest swiss IT companies in French-speaking Switzerland

The Lausanne-based company ELCA Informatique SA takes the top spot among the 100 largest swiss IT companies in French-speaking Switzerland.

 

According to study to identify the "Top 100 IT companies in francophone Switzerland" conducted by ICTjournal and the Alp ICT Cluster, the Geneva -based intercantonal ITC promotional agency, the region's largest IT swiss company is ELCA with 303 employees.

This exclusive survey to establish rankings of IT companies in francophone Switzerland in regards of employee numbers has highlighted the dynamism of the industry as a creator of employment. With a balance of 47 new jobs in 2010, ELCA also came in at second place in the rankings as a generator of new employment.

At a round table discussion that concluded the presentation of the results, the key players discussed the challenges facing the IT sector in francophone Switzerland and in particular the recognized shortage of IT specialists.

Daniel Gorostidi, the CEO of ELCA Informatique took the opportunity to underline the necessity of remedying the apparent deficit in the image of IT professions with younger people and women.

ELCA confirmed its optimism regarding the Group's growth potential in 2011 and reaffirmed its commitment to continue to grow in both French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland by the creation of new jobs.
