Successful renewal of ISO 9001 certification and initial certification according to ISO 14001

2 May 2011

In April this year, ELCA has been re-certified for ISO 9001 for the 6th time already since the initial certification in 1993 when ELCA was among the first in the Swiss IT sector. This year’s audit was combined with the audit for initial certification for ISO 14001, the standard relating to environmental management.

ISO 9001 is nowadays firmly established as the globally implemented standard for providing assurance about the ability to satisfy quality requirements and to enhance customer satisfaction in supplier-customer relationships. ELCA is committed to continuously adapt its management approach to the changing constraints of the business and manage the regression risks. The focus on quality has also been set in the offshore development branch in Vietnam which last year has been re-assessed at maturity level 3 under the CMMI ® model (Capability Maturity Model Integration).

The ISO 14001 standard is a globally recognized set of requirements relating to environmental management. With this certification ELCA demonstrates that it recognises environmental concerns as an essential component of the company’s sustainability management. ELCA is committed to further improve its carbon footprint, to reduce the consumption of natural resources and to monitor its waste management.
