#ELCAthon Wiedikon 2017 - What’s it about?
The ELCAthon is based on the idea of a hackathon. A “hackathon” (word created from “hack” and “marathon”) is a collaborative software and hardware development event. Other terms are “hack day”, “hackfest” and “codefest”. The purpose of a hackathon is to collectively produce useful, creative or entertaining software products within the duration of this event. Participants usually come from diverse areas in the software and hardware industry and often work on projects in cross-functional teams. Hackathons often have a specific topic or are related to technology (source: Wikipedia).
