Building a public blockchain standard for the ticketing industry

TIXnGO provides a software-as-a-service platform for secure mobile ticketing, with a private blockchain technology at its heart. It aims to upgrade security, reduce fraud, and digitalize event organisers’ audiences. The solution is already used by world largest events in the sport segment.

As a next step, we would like to explore how to move from our existing private blockchain (Ethereum) to a public blockchain. We are looking for a highly motivated talent who has already some experience in blockchain.

Since the solution already works on a blockchain, this internship aims to go deeper in the technology and answer difficult questions such as what is the best data standardisation for ticketing in a blockchain, what are the maximum performances a public blockchain can achieve, how to build a realistic business model considering the variable costs.

Beside the technical part the internship aims to studies some opportunities related to the financial model proper to the blockchain industry.

In this role

  • Analyse current ticking standards and model an open, extendable blockchain ticketing data model
  • Implement a POC based on that model with couple of realistic smart contracts
  • Measure effective performance limit of public blockchain (#ticketing transaction, confirmation delay)
  • Run the system and measure the realistic cost of transaction.
  • Expose an ICO investment model and evaluate the opportunity/thread of such an approach

Knowledge / skills required

  • Technology: Blockchain technology, data modelling, cryptography, GDPR, Ethereum
  • Finance: general ICO knowledge, some level of interest for financial figures (ROI)
