Fraud Management with AI Technology for International Organizations


Fraud management has been painful for international organizations. For them, the true cost of fraud extends far beyond the direct value of financial lost. As it often involves the compromise of justifications, the international organizations suffer heavily reputation losses as corrupted individuals take advantages of regulatory gaps and loopholes. Existing fraud detection methods depend heavily on human labor doing tedious manual work. In addition, known automated methods focus mainly on financial fraud. Therefore, it is urgent for these organizations to find automated fraud management methods tailored to their needs.  

The adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/machine learning (ML) technology has been accelerated with increasing processing power, availability of big data and advancements in statistical modeling. Machine learning has been instrumental in assisting businesses to tackle important problems including fraud management. Data scientists have been successful in coping with this problem by making use of machine learning and predictive analytics. Automated fraud screening systems powered by machine learning can help international organizations in reducing fraud.

What you will learn: You will be a junior data scientist, developing your skills in machine learning (deep learning, photo classification, information extraction from structured & non-structured data, natural language processing, etc), in reporting/BI application development.

In this role

In this project, the goal is to:

  • Evaluate existing AI technology that can be used as libraries for fraud management.
  • Understand the key success factors of the manual detection method, develop an AI application that extracts useful information from structured (refugee information) as well as non-structured data (photos, pdf documents, etc) for automatic fraud management.
  • Develop an AI powered fraud management application.
  • Develop a reporting application to display the important information and fraud management results.
