(Internship/Master Thesis) Quality at Scale on Cloud CI/CD platforms


Public cloud CI/CD platform such as GitLab or GitHub provide a lot of flexibility and functionality to developers. Software company with hundreds of projects and customers like ELCA needs indicators and to monitor quality and progression, the goals of this project is to build a monitoring tool that gather and consolidate these metrics.

Challenges: Learn and understand the best practices of the cloud CI/CD platform, fine tune the processes and code a program that will detect and report metrics.

Project applications: Improve ELCA controlling software by enabling public cloud development to fit ELCA standards.

What you will learn: Cloud CI/CD platforms, development best practices, get in touch with various kind of project and technologies.

Possible extensions (depends on advancement of the aforementioned work): Implement dashboard and reporting tools.

In this role

  • Design a global metrics API.
  • Implement a connector (container on Kubernetes) that implement the API and connect cloud Provider to gather metrics
  • Implement a Server-side component (container on Kubernetes) that consolidate data and push data on our ELCA Data lake.
