For our locations Lausanne/Geneva we are looking for a Junior System Engineer to increase the capabilities of our system team.

In this role

  • Your role in our ELCA Cloud Services Platform group is to work with the System team.
  • We look for a candidate with a technical profile with “hands on” experience who will contribute on driving the excellence of our System team.
  • You have experience in managing production infrastructures on Private datacenter or Public clouds.
  • You will be part of the infrastructure operations team reporting to the System Team Lead, inside of the Platform Operations organization.
  • The operation team is in charge of running more than 5’000 servers and containers for our internal SaaS applications and our customers platform relying on diverse cloud providers.

About your profile

You believe that software only makes sense if it works at any time; you know that reconciling production with development is full of technical challenges.
For this vacancy we are looking for a graduate candidate from a university, polytechnic or other specialized IT diploma, with experience in Linux, Windows and system components (SANs, Backups) on production systems.


Your expertise covers some of the following:

  • Demonstrated Unix/Linux and/or Windows operating system experience including troubleshooting/monitoring/backup
  • Experienced on virtualized infrastructure (VMware vSphere)
  • Storage solution knowledges: SAN (Fiber Channel/iSCSI), hyperconverged(vSAN)
  • Configuration management tool (Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
  • Infrastructure as a Code tool (Terraform, Packer)
  • Databases: MySQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL
  • Configuration management tools (Puppet, Chief, Ansible)
  • Container platform and orchestration: Docker, OpenShift, OKD or Kubernetes – operations
  • Scripting: bash, PowerShell
  • Continuous integration/deployment tool (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo)
  • Public Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Git based code control tools (GitLab, BitBucket)
  • Good understanding of Network concepts (firewalling, routing, switching, load balancing)
  • Experience with application servers such as TomCat, JBoss or Wildfly is a plus.
  • Datacenter operation experience (architecture concept, hardware setup)
  • Infrastructure monitoring tool (Nagios-like, Zabbix)
  • Service continuity experience (backup, restore, clustering)
  • Logs analytics (ELK Stack, VMware vRealize suite, Splunk)
  • Microsoft Server and services (AD, DNS, WSUS) experience
  • You have an excellent command of spoken and written French and English.
  • Skills on project management tool (Jira, Azure DevOps ).
  • Agile methodology experience.
