Security Analysis of Smart Contracts (internship)



With the increased popularity of Ethereum, the smart contracts community has seen also an increase in the number of attacks/smart contracts vulnerabilities. Nowadays the number of attacks has decreased, showing that the security is improving. Still, Solidity, the language used by the smart contracts, remains vulnerable. 

This internship is an interesting opportunity to contribute to the blockchain/smart contracts development. The goal of the internship is to explore the smart contract environment and to improve the security state of the art.

During the project, the candidate will study the Solidity/EVM and the existing attacks and vulnerabilities. This knowledge will help in asserting the capabilities of the existing tools (e.g. Mythril, Oyente) that analyze smart contracts and further improve them.

What you will learn: You will be a junior security engineer, developing your skills in blockchain and security by analyzing the existing smart contracts environment.

In this role

In this project, the goal is to:

  • Study Ethereum, study the Solidity language/EVM
  • Study the existing vulnerabilities and attacks in smart contracts
  • Study the existing tools for static analysis
  • Develop or extend the capabilities of the existing tools that analyse the security of smart contracts
