Cédric Moret, CEO
Cédric Moret is Swiss, was born in Lausanne, and has over 20 years of experience in the marketing and consulting fields. He spent seven years with Procter & Gamble, where he held several line management positions and led numerous market launches in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In 2001 he joined McKinsey & Company where he advised CEOs and executive teams on how to discover new sources of growth, reduce organisational complexity and make operational improvements. He became a Partner, held several leadership roles within McKinsey in Switzerland and in Europe, and recently drove the development of McKinsey’s digital expertise. Cédric Moret has a proven track record in developing tailored solutions that address customers’ most demanding requirements. He studied Business Administration at the University of Lausanne and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School.
Ferruccio Lagutaine, COO
Ferruccio Lagutaine is an Italian national who spent his early years in Italy, Iran, Egypt and Australia. In 1996, after obtaining a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universita' degli Studi di Genova (Italy), he joined Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in France, where he spent eight years implementing large IT systems, starting as a developer and later working as a business analyst, technical architect, and ultimately as a program manager. In 2004 he moved to Zurich to join McKinsey & Company, where he led the Swiss Business Technology office from 2010 until recently. In the course of his career, Ferruccio has served clients in multiple sectors and across the globe, covering most geographies from Spain to Japan, focussing on helping them optimise their IT investments to meet their business needs.
Laurent Wassenberg, CFO
Laurent Wassenberg is Swiss, and was born in Vevey. He has been ELCA's Finance Director since 2003 (11 years) and is also chairman of the company's pension fund. His career reflects his many years of experience in finance, information technology and human resources management. After obtaining a degree in economics from HEC Lausanne (Haute Ecole Commerciale) in 1992, he completed his financial and business training by qualifying as an accountant at the Swiss Institute of Certified Accountants and Tax Consultants in 1997 and earning a Master of Science in Business Information Systems (MBI) at the University of Lausanne in 2001.
Toni La Rosa, Sales Director
Toni La Rosa is a Swiss national with Sicilian roots who was born in Zurich. Following an apprenticeship, he graduated as a Mechanical/Computer Engineer BIGA and later completed his education with several extensive management courses. Toni joined ELCA in 2010 as a Branch Manager in Zurich and was appointed Sales Director and member of the board in 2012. During this period ELCA grew substantially in new areas and entered new industry sectors. Prior to joining ELCA, Toni La Rosa worked for Wang Laboratories, Ascom and Sun Microsystems in various sales and management positions, including Managing Director for the Mediterranean region.

We have many years of experience with different collaboration scenarios and, together with our clients and partners, we choose the one that best fits the needs of the client.
A wide range of projects
ELCA has a great deal experience with projects of all types and sizes, whether small- or large-scale, simple or highly complex, short-, medium- or long-term. We serve clients in all major industries, from banking and insurance, the public sector and retail and manufacturing to transport, logistics and life sciences. We manage projects that are staffed by one ELCA expert, for example smaller consulting mandates, as well as projects that require tens of thousands of man hours and span a number of years. Our optimised and flexible project methodology has proven itself many times over: at ELCA we launch approximately 100 new projects each year. Our experience, our project methodology and our highly qualified engineers allow us to implement and manage a wide range projects in a highly effective and efficient way.

ELCA offers both “time and material”-based and fixed-price projects. And, because we firmly believe in ourselves, our competence and our way of working, we began offering and implementing fixed-price projects more than 25 years ago, which means we have many years of experience with these kinds of projects – something our clients greatly appreciate.
The idea was to provide our clients with the best possible service and to offer them a high level of security in terms of budget planning and time-to-market, as well as shared risk, especially for larger or long-term projects. Thanks to our experience, our highly adaptable project methodology and the option to collaborate with our offshore development centre in Vietnam, we are in an ideal position to implement successful fixed-price projects that are a success for our clients and for ourselves. In 1998, ELCA was one of the first western European companies to found its own offshore subsidiary in Vietnam. The initial team of six people has grown to become a profitable production location which today is home to more than 200 employees. ELCA Vietnam serves as an extension of our Swiss team’s workbench and provides us with the opportunity to scale our capabilities and competences quickly and manage bottlenecks efficiently, while also providing support for the operation and maintenance of applications. ELCA Vietnam is set up and works in accordance with high Swiss quality standards and is also CMMI level 3 certified. Every year ELCA implements around 70 projects with the help of its Vietnamese subsidiary – a number that is steadily increasing.

When it comes to IT solutions, companies essentially have to take a “make or buy” decision – do they want a customised or a standard software solution? ELCA’s user group model is, so to speak, a hybrid of both approaches which combines the best of both worlds: a seasoned IT professional is responsible for the technological implementation, while several companies or clients, organized into a user group, work together to determine the product roadmap of the solution. This means that the design and development of the IT solution is directly based on the industry in question. At the same time, the members of the user group split the costs. ELCA has already applied this user group model successfully for a number solutions and industries, including Sumex (automated invoice checking), SecuTix (ticketing) and iPension (pension administration).

Although ELCA has held the ISO 14001 certificate since April 2011, the company's commitment to the environmental dimension of sustainability goes back much further.
While the reasons for selecting Swiss office locations in the early ‘90s near train stations were economy and time efficiency, ELCA quickly started to realise the ecological advantages.
ELCA has since promoted the use of public transport by providing each employee with a half-fare travel card and reducing the parking spaces at office locations to a minimum.
With advances in technology, electronic documents have replaced paper for most of our projects, while chat tools and videoconferencing equipment reduce the need to travel for meetings.
In addition to the environmental dimension of sustainability that seeks careful use of energy and raw materials, the social dimension of sustainability has always been one of ELCA’s core values.

We also encourage our clients’ green IT initiatives. Our ticketing product SecuTix is offered in SaaS (Software as a Service) mode and includes a functionality that enables customers to promote public transport through combined offer tickets.
Our strong authentication solution, ELCARDm, is based on using existing equipment and therefore needs no additional or replacement materials. We support the virtualisation of environments, both in-house and for our customers, to limit the purchase of material and consumption of electricity.
Last but not least, we develop many dematerialisation projects in the ECM and CRM domain that contribute to reducing paperwork.
In 1968, a team of engineers created the company Electro-Calcul. Its first assignment was to monitor the installations at the Grande Dixence dam (Canton of Valais). It was the first system of its type in Switzerland with computer-assisted process control.
In 1984, Energie Ouest Suisse (EOS) became Electro-Calcul's second shareholder, together with Grande Dixence SA, followed by Ascom (1987) and CFF (1988). The management at the time changed the company name and ELCA Informatique was born.
A notable event in 1992 was increased activity on the Swiss German market through the establishment of a branch in Zurich, increasing the share of sales achieved in German-speaking Switzerland considerably. Other offices were subsequently opened in Geneva (1994) and Bern (1995). In the course of this succession plan, Daniel Gorostidi handed over the ownership of ELCA and SecuTix to a new executive team and a group of Swiss private investors and entrepreneurs on March 31, 2015. A key element for his decision was to find a Swiss solution, and to ensure that the Group remains independent and maintains its continuous growth.
As the company expanded internationally, ELCA established an offshore subsidiary in Vietnam from 1998 onwards and this was followed by two new subsidiaries – in Paris (2006) and Madrid (2007). In Europe, the expansion is primarily linked to the success of SecuTix, our global integrated ticketing solution. This solution, which is intended for event, live entertainment and leisure professionals, has been designed to operate as a hosted service (Saas) since it was introduced in 2002.
From a company producing code, ELCA has developed with its quality approach to offer complete management of IT projects at fixed prices. Its technical expertise and its ability to offer sustainable architectures have progressively made the company a force in the market: from 2005 onwards it has expanded its expertise in the field of integration projects. Now the company has rounded off its offering by providing business solutions in the fields of insurance (Sumex suite), pensions (iPension), security (ELCARD) and ticketing (SecuTix). These services are provided using agile methods, keeping pace with our customers' expectations (Agile IT).
